The Story of the Reintroduction of Red Kites in Rockingham Forest
by Dr. Chris Andrews of the RSPB at Fineshade, Northamptonshire

Dr. Chris Andrews has been Visitor and Promotions Officer for the RSPB at Fineshade Woods since 2007. Fineshade is THE place for red kites.
The red kite is a magnificent bird but one that was amost driven to extinction in Britain by human persecution. Through the efforts of the RSPB and others, the fate of this most dramatic creature was secured through a series of reintroductions, including one that is reasonably accessible from Spalding in Fineshade Woods in Rockingham Forest, between Stamford and Corby. This talk looks at the fall and dramatic rise in their fortunes and reveals some fascinating facts about their lives.
